FC Barcelona inaugurated its football school in Bucharest

The president of the Spanish club FC Barcelona, Joan Laporta, inaugurated, on Tuesday evening, the football academy of the Catalan group in Bucharest, on the secondary field of the Arc de Triumf stadium, together with the president of this school, the former international Florin Răducioiu.

The official of the Spanish group stated that he wants the young footballers of the academy from Bucharest to participate in the annual tournament organized by Barcelona between the 29 academies around the world.

“I am absolutely delighted, I would have liked very much to speak Romanian, because you all reached my heart, each one of you. For me, the fact that I am the president of FC Barcelona is a real privilege and in moments like these you really feel everything that Barca represents. Romania is a football country and has many great players. We from Barcelona are eager to see the activity of the academy in Romania. What are we going to do with this academy? We want these children to be involved in sports, we want these children to know our true style of playing football. Because it is the element that makes Barcelona recognized all over the world, through this style of play, and we are very proud of our style of play. We want one more thing, the boys and girls who will train at the academy in Bucharest participate in the international tournament organized by Barcelona, every year. Today we can say that Romania and Barca are more united. To become a great player you have to work, be disciplined, have a passion for football and above all enjoy what you do. And the most important thing, be good people”, said Laporta at the official opening of the football school.

The president of Barca Academy Romania, Florin Răducioiu, said that the Bucharest football school will live up to the standards imposed by the Catalan group.

“We assure you of one thing that this academy will carry out its activity according to the methodology and standards imposed by the parent club, respectively Football Club Barcelona, with the hope that in the future we will train great players”, said Răducioiu.

Former footballer Florin Gardoş also participated in the event, who mentioned that FC Barcelona is a name that attracts all over the world, being convinced that the academy from Bucharest will be successful.

“FC Barcelona is a name that will attract you and there are many children who will want to be here, at this academy. It’s a surprise for me and I want to congratulate those who had the courage to do this. Unfortunately, very few people invest in football academies in Romania and this is a very good example of an academy that works and generates players on a conveyor belt”, said Gardoş.

Barca Academy Romania is the 29th football school in the world of the Catalan club, and the fifth in Europe, after Barcelona, Zurich, Budapest and Istanbul.
