FC Porto seeks 22nd consecutive victory in the Portuguese Cup – Football

Vítor Bruno debuts this Sunday in the Portuguese Cup as head coach of FC Porto and has a well-defined objective: to beat Sintrense on the first step to the final.

“My debut is not important, that it is (FC Porto’s) 22nd consecutive victory in the competition (they won the last three editions), that it is the beginning of a path in which we want to go as far as possible, and that is reaching Jamor ”, said the coach, who does not want to repeat his debut in the Europa League, in which he lost to Bodo/Glimt. For the game with the Portuguese Championship team, Vítor Bruno admits changes.

“We’ll see tomorrow (this Sunday). Eventually some, some who have played more will perhaps continue to play. Those who stayed here, it is true that many people say that there is always some advantage, I agree with that, I am not completely a fan of this issue”, highlighted the coach, guaranteeing that Tiago Djaló and Otávio are among those called up.

Regarding the Brazilian, who went from starting to reserve status, the coach guarantees that the player was not discarded. “It has huge potential to be one of the great centers in Europe”, he highlighted, also talking about the case of the emails involving Benfica: “We have a president who wants to make these cases of corruption a banner.”

Regarding the controversy involving Samu, the coach was emphatic: “I’m interested in looking at Samu as playing for FC Porto and not as a former Atl. Madrid.”
