Fed Beige Book report: Economic growth expected to slow

The Fed has published the July issue of its “Beige Book” report, which includes assessments of the current state of the American economy.

The report, prepared with analyses from the bank’s 12 branches, stated that economic activity continued to grow at a “light to moderate” pace in most regions.

The report noted that seven regions reported a slight increase in economic activity, while five regions saw activity remain stable or decline.

“Expectations for the future of the economy were that growth would be slower in the next 6 months due to the upcoming elections, domestic politics, geopolitical conflicts and uncertainty about inflation,” the report said.

The report noted that employment increased slightly, wages continued to rise at a “moderate to moderate” pace in most regions, and prices generally increased at a moderate pace.
