DAPURPACUID – Federal Oil positively welcomed the important points achieved by the Gresini Racing MotoGP Team through the performance of the Marquez ‘duo’ at the Malaysian MotoGP last weekend.
In this round, both Marc and Alex Marquez were able to show their best performance in both the Sprint Race and Main Race sessions. Even so, Marc had to swallow a bitter pill when he slipped in the Main Race.
Market Development General Manager of PT ExxonMobil Lubricants Indonesia, Rommy Averdy said, Marc and Alex Marquez tried to perform their best in achieving the best finishing position, even though various incidents occurred during the race.
“It is a source of pride for Federal Oil that the two Gresini Racing riders were able to secure important points to place the best position in the MotoGP rider standings for the 2024 season,” he explained in his official broadcast, Wednesday (6/11).
Rommy also admitted that he was optimistic that Marc would be able to finish the season in the top three of the standings, and Alex in the top 10 of the standings in the final series which will be held in mid-November.
According to him, thanks to solid teamwork and the support of expert mechanics in preparing the racing motorbike, the Marquez brothers will definitely be more comfortable in their pursuit of victory.
“Of course, support and hopes from Federal Oil, consumers and fans in Indonesia will continue to flow so that the Marquez Brothers can close the season with a double podium,” he added.
The most impressive performance for the Gresini Racing Team in the Main Race session at the 2024 Malaysian MotoGP was shown by Alex who managed to finish in fourth position, after starting the race from third position.
The Ducati Desmosedici GP23 was able to catch three Ducati riders with new engines, and this result has an impact on its position in the 2024 MotoGP Riders standings, which is now in 10th position with 155 points.
After the race, Alex explained that this race was a momentum for him to collect important points and rediscover the confidence and sensation that had been lacking in the last few matches.
For him, it was not an easy race because with the red flag, Alex had to keep his concentration high and his physical condition was not 100% at that time because of a slight flu which made him unable to sleep well last night.
“I have to thank the team that was close to me even in the moments that were a little more complicated, and now that we are back to our level, we have to enjoy this moment.”
Meanwhile for Marc, even though he had achieved a podium in the Sprint Race session, Marc had to give up the potential to achieve another podium due to an incident where his front tire lost grip while fighting for the front row in the Main Race session.
However, the eight-time world champion was still able to recover and gain 4 points to remain in third place in the 2024 MotoGP rider standings with 369 points.
“On a circuit that has historically been complicated for me it was a very positive weekend where we were competitive. There are days when you don’t know why you fell.”
“Today I feel more comfortable and know I can fight as hard as I can for third place. “That’s how it is, there is still one race left and I will try to finish it in the best way,” concluded Marc.
