At 10.30am on 18 October Celeste Palmieri was leaving the Eurospin in via Salvemini, in San Severo (Foggia), when she was killed. Inside the supermarket she met Mario Furio, her ex-husband, against whom she had already intervened with several complaints to ask for protection after years of mistreatment and threats.

Blocked by the police cars, he took his own life by shooting himself with the same gun.

Investigators are investigating to understand what went wrong in the electronic bracelet system. According to rumors, Celeste Palmieri had repeatedly reported the malfunction of her device.
