The end of Fernando Alonso’s season in 2024 is not being pleasant. Aston Martin has fallen dramatically behind in Formula 1, and they are joining that some physical and health problems that they have crushed the Asturian pilot throughout the American tour, which fortunately for him is now over.
At Interlagos, the last circuit in which he had been on the podium, Alonso looked for the machada in the classification but he ended up against the wall. Afterwards, he had a tortuous career dealing with back problems that made him think about quitting, but he didn’t because “the people of Valencia are worse than me.”

“I’m going to finish the race for the mechanicsbut this rebound makes no sense.” It was Fernando Alonso’s last radio in Brazil, a few laps from the end. The Spaniard was second to last and with a very sore back after more than 60 laps driving the wheeled mixer in which his Aston Martin has become.
Alonso was referring to the fact that the mechanics had done a titanic job to fix his car in less than three hours after the accident he suffered during Q3 of qualifying. “I came to pole”lamented Alonso, who wanted to take the maximum risk in the humid conditions that Interlagos offered him.
The truth is that Alonso is going through a difficult time on a physical level. Already in Mexico he ran damaged, and before the race in Brazil he had to travel to Europe to be an intestinal infection that has ruined his American tour. Back problems have now been added to this.
“We have a lot of bounce, under normal conditions I wouldn’t have finished, but I had to do it for the mechanics, for me, who suffered to get here, and for the people of Valencia, who are worse than me“, acknowledged Alonso who had to be helped out of the car after the 69 laps of the race in Brazil.
Alonso finished fourteenth in a race in which he also had some off-track, and in which the strategy was once again wrong. But in any case, there was little to do, since although there was time to repair the car to go out to the race, the truth is that “we did not have quality spare parts”.

Aston Martin has already gone three races in a row without scoringand at this step he will end up asking for the time so that Alpine and Haas do not overtake him.
