Last year, upon the instructions of the Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin, the “End of Term Activities Week” was implemented in schools in order to encourage students to participate in artistic, cultural, sports and scientific activities in the last week before the end of the term.
According to the information received by the AA correspondent, this year’s events have been updated in an integrated manner with the Turkey Century Education Model, which focuses on academic success as well as social, cultural, artistic and sports development with a holistic approach. In this context, during the activity week, students will be offered a wide range of activities that will support their all-round development.
The activities to be held within the scope of “End of Term Activities Week” on January 13-16 will be organized by a delegation consisting of teachers and students.
All of the events were defined as “central events” by the Ministry in the e-School Social Activity Module. Schools will select these events from the Central Activities section of the Social Event Login Screen and enter the information of the student(s) who carried out the activity into the module. Data entries made into the e-School Social Activity Module will also be included in students’ social activity report cards.
It is aimed for students to both have fun and learn with the plans, which include many activities, from quiz competitions to talent sharing hours, from oratory games to exhibitions, from social responsibility activities to documentaries and animation shows.
– EVENTS CAN BE ORGANIZED IN COOPERATION OF STUDENTS, TEACHERS, PARENTS AND SCHOOL ADMINISTRATION
Day-by-day sample plans were included in the “End of Term Activity Week Implementation Guide”, which was updated in accordance with the Türkiye Century Education Model.
Schools will be able to change the day of the activities included in the plan and determine the activity hours according to school and environmental conditions. In addition to sample activities, the Activity Week Executive Committee will be able to organize many games and activities in cooperation with students, teachers, parents and school administration.
The Ministry of Education’s planning for the activity week, day by day, is as follows:
MONDAY, JANUARY 13:
Talent Sharing Hour: Volunteer teachers and students will organize workshops, presentations or interviews in areas of interest. Content will consist of school and extracurricular topics.
The Riches of Our Language – Oratory Games “Debate”: Students will be able to debate, which is one of the games to improve their oratory skills in the classroom.
Quiz: Each school will prepare questions and answers for its own quiz. Competitions will be held in each class at the same time.

The Riches of Our Language – Oratory Games “Roles Discussing”: Students will discuss a topic in the “roles discussing” activity.
Game Time: A free time event will be planned where various board games and drama games will be played. MEB’s “100 Face-to-Face Children’s Games” digital book can be used for basic education students.

I Have an Idea Time: Students will discuss their own responsibilities by exchanging information on world and social issues.
The Riches of Our Language – Oratory Games “Rhetoric Competition”: An “oratory race” will be held among students in each class.
