Fighting in polling station, Awami League leader Asad arrested

Awami League leader SM Asaduzzaman (55) has been arrested by the Chandgaon police station in connection with the fight at the polling station in the 2020 Chittagong-8 constituency.

Chittagong Metropolitan Police ADC (PR) Kazi Md Tarek Aziz confirmed that he was arrested on Tuesday (October 8).

Arrested SM Asaduzzaman resident of one kilometer area under Chandgaon police station. It is known that he was involved in various activities of Awami League.

He was arrested in Chandgaon Police Station Case No. 33 and GR 292. He is the 4th accused in that case. Councilor Ashraful Alam, No. 6 East Sholashar Ward Awami League President Samsul Alam, Jabedul Islam, General Secretary of Chandgaon Police Station, General Secretary of Swachhasebak League Jabedul Islam were named as accused in this case and 50 anonymous people were named in this case.

The prosecution charged, unlawful assembly and armed with intent to kill, causing common and grievous hurt.

The case was filed on September 25 by Morshed Alam, a resident of Chandgaon area. He has mentioned in the case that he is the organizing secretary of No. 6 East Sholashar Ward Jubo Dal.
