It’s another weekend with problems in obstetrics and pediatrics emergencies in the Lisbon and Tagus Valley region, to which the Leiria hospital joins.
This Saturday, according to information taken at 9:20 am from the SNS Portal, the emergency services of the following hospitals are closed:
Amadora-Sintra Hospital in the area of Obstetrics and Gynecology;
Hospital do Barreiro in the areas of Obstetrics and gynecology and pediatrics;
Hospital Beatriz Ângelo (Loures) in Pediatrics;
Aanto André Hospital (Leiria) in the Obstetrics area
On Sunday, all of the above are repeated, but the Pediatrics emergency department at Torres Vedras Hospital is added to the list, which will be completely closed.
The government and the Ministry of Health recommend that before going to the emergency room you first call the SNS24 line (808 24 24 24) which has been receiving a very high number of calls these days.
There are complaints that waiting times are too long, but the services do not reveal the average waiting time for a call to be answered.
