Sara Nygård, a 32-year-old health nurse from Pohja, has experienced a very humiliating act sexually.
He was videotaped without permission during a sexual act. The author received a sentence for his act, but has announced that he will appeal his sentence to the Court of Appeal. The sentence was a 40-day suspended sentence and a fine for illegal viewing.

Met through a dating app
The incident happened in April 2021.
At that time, Sara found a nice-looking man on a dating app who lived in Vaasa, just like Sara at the time. The date went well.

The second time they met, they were at the man’s house and had sex. In the middle of intercourse, Sara noticed a flash of light somewhere in the room. However, Sara didn’t think about it any more. Little by little, Sara began to wonder where the light could have come from. Was it from a cell phone? Had the man videotaped intercourse without Sara’s consent?
The next day they met again and Sara asked about it. The man admitted that he had photographed their act.
– I was shocked. What kind of person does this without permission?
The man said he had deleted the video from his phone. The man apologized for his actions.
– I told the man that you should never video anyone without their consent.
Uncertainty eats away at the mind
Sara cannot know whether the man saved the video on his home computer or in a cloud service.
– The police haven’t told me that either. What if the man still has the video. Will it pop up again at some point?
Sara filed a criminal report at the police department. After that, to the Vaasa Central Hospital’s emergency room.
– I finally had a panic attack in front of the psychiatric nurse.
Sara feels that she received inappropriate treatment when she sought help.
– I feel bad because no one helped me, and I didn’t feel like I was getting understanding. My right to self-determination had been deeply violated.
Now Sara is strong and feels much better mentally. It has required therapy and time. Sara sees many problems in mental health services. Based on his experience, he wants to change society’s grievances and is therefore getting involved in politics.
