Fire at a boarding house in Alba, there were no tourists staying

According to the spokesperson of the Inspectorate for Emergency Situations Alba, Alex Crişan, the Aiud Fire Department intervened to locate and extinguish a fire in the town of Rimetea, which broke out at a wood-burning power station, at a boarding house.

Three fire trucks with water and foam and a first aid crew were sent to the scene. The military firefighters were joined by members of SVSU Rimetea.

“The fire took place in the entire basement of the boarding house, on an area of ​​approximately 120 square meters. At the moment, the fire has been located and work is being done to completely extinguish it,” Alex Crişan said.

He specified that a person suffering from a panic attack is receiving medical assistance at the scene of the intervention.

The spokesperson of ISU Alba stated, for AGERPRES, that “there were no tourists in the boarding house when the fire broke out”.

Considered one of the most beautiful rural destinations in Romania, more than 55 guesthouses operate in Rimetea.
