Fire in ‘Sufia’ carrying LPG at Qutubdia in Bay of Bengal

A fire broke out in the LPG-carrying vessel ‘Sufiya’ at Kutubdia in Cox’s Bazar district. However, there were no immediate reports of casualties or damage.

The incident took place on Sunday (October 13) around 1 o’clock in the Qutubdia channel of the Bay of Bengal. Bangladesh Coast Guard East Zone (Chittagong) Captain Md confirmed the matter. Zahirul Haque

He said that the Coast Guard Tug Ship, three metal sharks are working on firefighting immediately after receiving the information about the fire. The Coast Guard is in the process of bringing the fire under control.

Naval Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Ekramul Haque said, ‘We have also heard the matter. I am continuing to try to collect information by keeping in touch with various organizations.

Earlier on October 5, there was a fire incident in a tanker ship named ‘OT Banglar Sourav’ which was stationed in the outer anchorage of the Bay of Bengal. One person was killed in this incident. The incident took place in an oil tanker of Bangladesh Shipping Corporation named Charlie Anchorage.
