A dozen aerial resources and numerous ground resources managed to stabilize a large part of the perimeter of the forest fire that broke out this morning in La Tejera, on the border between the province of Zamora and Portugal.
The stabilization of most of the perimeter meant that, at around 8:00 pm this Saturday, the fire danger level had dropped from one to zero on a scale of zero to three, sources from the fire-fighting force told the EFE news agency.
The fire, which broke out at around 5:00 am on Saturday in an area of wind turbines at a wind farm in the municipality of Hermisende, close to the border with the Portuguese natural park of Montesinho, gained large proportions due to the wind.
In addition to the air resources, technicians and environmental agents, ten ground teams and seven teams of firefighting specialists were involved in the extinguishing work throughout the day, as well as machinery and other firefighting teams.
