Firmware update for AirPods Pro 2nd generation

Apple has released a software update for AirPods Pro 2nd generation (both Lightning and USB-C), known as build 7A294.

This version eliminates minor bugs, improves stability and performance. Additionally, it introduces:

  • Voice isolation for improved calls in noisy environments
  • Support for nodding or shaking your head to respond to Siri
  • Upgrade to personalized surround sound

To check the current software version:

  • make sure your headphones are connected to your iOS device
  • open the application Settingsenter the tab Generalto choose This devicefind your AirPods and the software number – it will probably be 6F8.

The update should happen automatically after you put the headphones in the case, close it and connect it to the power supply. After a while, the installation process should start, but it doesn’t always happen.

Please note that there are no official steps you need to take to force an installation.
