Apple has released a software update for AirPods 4 and the 2nd generation Pro model (both those with a Lightning connector and a USB-C port). They were marked as build 7B20 and build 7B21, respectively.
This version eliminates minor bugs, improves stability and performance. Additionally introduces:
- Voice isolation to improve calls in noisy environments
- Support for nodding or shaking your head to respond to Siri
- Upgrade to personalized surround sound
To check the current software version:
- make sure the headphones are connected to your iOS device
- open the application Settingsenter the tab Generalto choose This devicefind the AirPods and the software number – it will probably be 7B19.
However, the update should take place automatically after placing the headphones in the case, closing it and connecting it to the power supply. After a while, the installation process should start, but it does not always happen.
Please note that there are no official steps you need to take to force installation.
