First cases of influenza reported in Latvia

Last week, Latvia recorded its first 10 cases of influenza, registered in Riga and Liepaja, the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (SPKC) reported.

SPKC also noted that only certain hospitals, family doctors and outpatient facilities participate in monitoring, so the actual number of cases may be higher.

As noted by the SPKC representative Ilze Udrethe overall incidence of influenza in Latvia is low and is observed among adults in the age group from 15 to 64 years.

More active vaccinations against coronavirus and flu will begin next week, says SPKC.
