You can soon see the film adaptation of Sebastian Fitzek’s “The Way Home” on Amazon Prime Video. The first trailer has been released.
Germany’s number 1 thriller author has just published a new bestseller. In “The calendar girl“Sebastian Fitzek tells us about the tradition of the living Advent calendar, which takes a nightmarish turn in his psychological thriller. A new, brutal task awaits behind every door. To this day, the surviving protagonist has not recovered from the trauma when she is once again haunted by the past in a remote cabin.
With such experimental arrangements and horror stories, Sebastian Fitzek was able to gain special status for himself. Not only are his thrillers sold and translated many times, but adaptations of his material are now increasing. For example, the novel “Abschnitt” made it to cinema screens as a film starring Moritz Bleibtreu and Lars Eidinger. “The Soul Crusher” became a play and “The Therapy”Fitzek’s debut, was launched as a series on Prime Video. With the streaming service, all Fitzek fans can now look forward to the next film adaptation. With “The Way Home” from 2022, one of the star author’s younger novels has been brought into a film form. This time, however, not as a series, but as a single film, which is scheduled to be released for streaming on January 16th.
According to Amazon, this is “The Way Home.” most successful novel to date by Fitzek. The project was originally supposed to appear at the end of the year, but now the start date has apparently been pushed back slightly. “The Way Home” was staged by director Adolfo Kolmerer, who became known for the film “Snowflake” and the series “Oderbruch”. Well-known actors such as Luise Heyer, Sabin Tambrea and Friedrich Mücke play the main roles.
That’s what “The Way Home” is about
Amazon describes the plot of the film as follows in a press release: When Jules (Sabin Tambrea) starts work on the escort line, a telephone support service for women to get home safely, everything looks like a quiet Saturday evening. Until he receives a call from a young mother named Klara (Luise Heyer), who claims that she will die that night at the hands of a notorious woman murderer. He had previously given her an ultimatum: Either she kills her husband (Friedrich Mücke) or she will be murdered that very night. This is how Klara’s desperate escape from the so-called calendar killer begins – with Jules on the phone, who is her only hope of rescue.
