The first bell for class here will ring immediately after the New Year holidays. Teachers, students, parents are looking forward to the move – after all, the old school building is overcrowded. And the annex will comfortably accommodate 24 classrooms, almost 700 people.
It has its own gym, a dining room with 250 seats, and an information and library center. The speech therapist’s office has a special interactive panel for correcting speech defects in children: with its help, you can play and perform exercises to develop correct pronunciation. A spacious assembly hall with the latest audio equipment and musical instruments. There is even a medical block, where a dentist will also work. The new building also includes an area for group lessons on traffic rules and an interactive floor for logic and attention games. At the same time, the school stadium was updated: there will be running tracks and equipment for outdoor physical education.
Particular attention was paid to the interior decoration. On the walls appeared images of animals and plants of the Irkutsk region, memorable places of Irkutsk, quotes dedicated to their hometown and Lake Baikal. A little later, portraits of Irkutsk writers will be hung in the offices.

– The opening of the primary block of the school is a huge event for us. We have been waiting for him for a very long time. And now this dream has become a reality. I want to say a huge thank you to the administration of Irkutsk, because thanks to it we now stand in a new block of the school, equipped with the latest technology. Everything is done here to ensure that children study well and develop their talents. From January 9, 699 students will sit at their desks. There are 24 classrooms in total. Twenty of them will study in the first shift and four in the second,” school director Lyudmila Efremkina does not hide her joy.
The design of the three-story primary school building began back in 2016. In order to fit the building into the site, additional land had to be added to the school grounds. Construction began in December 2021 under the national Education project. More than 696 million rubles were allocated from the federal, regional and local budgets for the work.

Along with the educational process, we organize ample opportunities for additional education,” commented Mayor Ruslan Bolotov.
The Irkutsk experience in constructing additional buildings at existing schools has proven itself well. In this way, the city solves the problem of lack of places for students given the current shortage of land for construction in the regional center. This practice, the Irkutsk mayor’s office assures, will continue.

Today, three more schools are being built in Irkutsk. The new block of school No. 75 on Akademicheskaya Street should be commissioned by the end of 2024 – Ruslan Bolotov set this task for JSC UKS of the city of Irkutsk. A comprehensive school for 1,550 places on Yaroslavsky Street is planned to be completed by September 1, 2025. And in 2027, a school with 1,225 places in the Soyuz microdistrict should accept students – this year the builders entered the site. All facilities are being built according to the national project “Education”.
