First impressions | Logitech Pro X Superlight 2 Dex gaming mouse – Light, comfortable and precise

At LogiPlay 2024, the brand new Pro X Superlight 2 Dex gaming mouse was introduced to Logitech’s Pro series, primarily designed for competitive gaming. The three-letter ending of the model designed in cooperation with professionals comes from the familiar dexterity-stats from tabletop role-playing games, i.e. dexterity, which is highlighted in the user experience of the new model.

The next level of the widely regarded Pro X Superlight 2 model focuses on serving only right-handed players this time, as the symmetrical model of the predecessor has been abandoned. The new Dex is actually even slightly larger than its sibling, but retains exactly the same 60 gram weight. In addition, the back of the mouse is slightly softer on the thumb side, and the slight slope of the front part to the right makes for a more natural handle for the fingers.

In addition to the basic buttons and the scroll wheel, there are also two buttons for the thumb on the left side of the mouse.

Based on the first impression, however, the slightly larger size does not feel in use, but on the contrary, the feeling is excellent. However, ergonomics is a completely subjective experience, but the Superlight 2 Dex fit comfortably in my hand.

Especially when used to slightly heavier mice, the weight of 60 grams feels almost non-existent and, due to its lightness, even like a model piece. Still, Counter-Strike 2 registered a delay in mouse movements, and after playing a little, you couldn’t even notice its existence – the control felt more like an extension of your own hand than a separate mouse.

Like the Superlight 2, the base of the Dex model is mostly a sliding surface, which contributes to almost frictionless movement on the mouse pad. Combined with the lightness of the mouse, almost no force is needed to move the mouse, which also guarantees a more relaxed grip on the mouse itself. The test session was too short to know the long-term effects of use, but the combination could be expected to ease the strain on the palm after longer gaming sessions.

Considering that Pro X Superlight 2 Dex is primarily designed for fast-paced games like Counter-Strike, the user experience can be considered successful.

The same smoothness has also been brought to the technology inside the mouse.

However, Logitech itself admitted that the eight dominating the performance numbers look good in marketing and claimed that it is not even possible to reach the numbers on a human level. But for a professional who grinds every possible millisecond out of his performance, the numbers are probably more important than us who tread the habit.

The eight in question are thus represented by the eight kilohertz polling of the wireless Lightspeed technology and the acceleration of the Hero 2 sensor of 88 G and the speed of 888 inches per second. The maximum DPI deviates from the line, but still offers a resolution of up to 44,000 points. These are additions brought by the firmware update, so even old models can enjoy the improvements.

In practice, Logitech promises trouble-free gaming regardless of the environment, so you can take the mouse to an Assembly or other LAN event without worry. The accuracy can be seen in the actual games, and there was nothing to criticize in this regard in the test. Hit accuracy in Counter-Strike 2 seemed to be due more to the editor’s own abilities than the shortcomings of the mouse. But to be honest, I hardly noticed a big difference in my playing even with lower readings.

Logitech Pro X Superlight 2 Dex still felt extremely responsive and accurate in use. When I mentioned that the user experience is like an extension of the hand, I really meant it. The movements on the screen followed my intentions exactly, and you could only blame yourself for the mistakes. The same applied to the Lightforce hybrid switches, which registered the presses accurately and missed the wrong presses.

The user experience is completed by a battery life of no less than 95 hours, although this has been achieved with polling of a thousand hertz. Charging takes place using either USB-C or the separately purchased Powerplay wireless mouse pad.

Logitech Pro X Superlight 2 Dex is available now for 169.99 euros. The color options are black, white and pink.
