First SPOT contract for new sunflower, corn still on top


In the week behind us, the first SPOT contract for a new crop of sunflowers was concluded, and the dominant crop in trading was corn. A total of 4,725.00 tons of goods, with a financial value of RSD 136,710,000.00, were traded through the Product Exchange. Compared to seven days earlier, there were no major price changes of primary agricultural products.

Corn, wheat and everything over

In the structure of this week’s traffic, the dominant place was occupied by corn, with a traffic volume of 2,400.00 tons, or 65% of the total weekly traffic. The structure of buyers consisted of exporters and traders, while the share of domestic processors was significantly smaller. The price spread between supply and demand, as well as the difference in the quality of offered and requested goods, made it difficult to conclude stock exchange contracts.

Corn was traded in the price range from 19.00 to 19.50 din/kg without VAT. The weighted price was 19.29 din/kg without VAT (21.22 din/kg with VAT), 1.05% less compared to seven days earlier. Exchange contracts at CPT parity were concluded at a price of 19.90 to 20.00 din/kg without VAT.

As in the previous week, buyers showed the most interest in wheat with 11.5 to 12% protein. Exchange contracts were concluded at a single price level of 20.00 din/kg without VAT (22.00 din/kg with VAT), which also represents the weighted price. Compared to the previous week, the price of wheat recorded a minimal deviation of + 0.11%. One exchange contract for wheat was concluded with takeover in the period from 12.08.2024 to 20.08.2024, at a price of 20.30 din/kg without VAT (22.33 din/kg with VAT).

The sunflower is back on the scene

The soybean market is still passive. Exchange contracts were concluded at a price of 64.00 din/kg without VAT (70.40 din/kg with VAT), with the calculation of quality, which also represents the price weight. Compared to the previous comparative data, the price of soybeans is lower by 0.49%. The demand for a new crop of soybeans at a price of 52.66 din/kg without VAT (450.00 eur/t without VAT) was recorded.

During this week, the first SPOT contract was concluded for sunflower crop in 2024 at a price of 42.73 din/kg without VAT (365.00 eur/t without VAT), with takeover in the period from August 10, 2024. until 31.08.2024. years.

Sunflower meal with 33% protein was traded at a price of 27.00 din/kg without VAT (32.40 din/kg with VAT).
