Welcome to reality after a hard month of Christmas in the company of colleagues, friends, family and comrades. Things and cases have been bought for the big gold medal, and now a few wonderful days await with work, gift shopping, dieting and alcohol rehab.
Many are already scouting for New Year’s Eve. It falls on Tuesday, and then it is that most of the world sometimes goes completely gakgak. Organization has to be organised: what food will be on the table? Who makes it? Where do we buy it? What drink is needed? Who brings what? Should we have bubbles for the King’s speech? And what about cake at midnight?
Yes, there are many things on the plate, and it’s all about keeping your tongue in your mouth. Here in the house, we take it reasonably easy. Good friends show up for a sociable layer, and we’re usually at home, as Vigoo the Labrador doesn’t like witch howls, rockets and batteries. Viggo is actually somewhat uneasy about the situation.
Happy New Year, everyone.
That is why we in this house are very happy with a ban on setting off all kinds of fireworks far too many days in advance. We think it’s a good idea for people to wait to go bananas when lighters, cigars and matches are used. We also hope that it can help a little with the sad statistics for injuries leading up to the New Year.
Well, Nettips wishes everyone a Happy New Year. We do that with Martin Bo’s good Friday links. A big thank you to you, MB, for your sweet and kind efforts in enriching us all with useful Friday links. Also thanks to Queen and John Westcoast who help manage our discussion forum. Today, MB’s links are about photos, PDF, Explorer and disk scanner.
https://fotosketcher.com: Here you get help with your digital photos. And you can try it for free.
https://photodemon.org: We stay in the photographic world. Here you get a free image processing program.
https://www.pdfgear.com: If you instead need to create or edit PDF files, PDFgear is a free program for that.
https://files.community: Here you get a free alternative to Explorer on your Windows computer. The program is called Files.
https://diskanalyzer.com: And we end up in almost the same ballpark. WizTree scans your hard drive and quickly finds out which files take up the most space. The program is free for personal use.
