Then another documentary broadcast (or rather 2) caused an uproar in the Danish population. In the course of the week, TV2’s The Black Swan was put aside a bit in the Danes’ consciousness, as DR presented 2 documentary broadcasts with the title Sexism in the music industry.
The 2 broadcasts were briefly about sexism in the music industry in ugly clothes, where 2 male artists in particular come into focus because of their sexist approach. The 2 artists are partially anonymous in the broadcasts, but today everyone knows who the two gentlemen are. Nettips does not name the two men, but the attitude here on the keyboard is clear: the two male artists should be ashamed.
They have unreservedly exploited the power they possess as established artists on the Danish music scene, and when one of them is also chasing young girls under the age of 18, I have nothing left for such an artist. It is simply too disgusting.
Let’s learn from history
Nix, my support goes unreservedly to the female artists who have been subjected to sexism. Unfortunately, it is not new, and it has probably been an official secret in the industry, that young girls and women have had to suffer from ugly male chauvinism and unpleasant advances.
We cannot change history, but we can learn from it. In this forbearance, I believe that we must remember each other, that we must treat each other with mutual respect. Regardless of gender. We must treat each other as we would like to be treated ourselves.
The 2 artists have withdrawn from performances in the coming months. Musicians, festivals and organizers boycott the 2 men, and they have to face a summer without the big jobs. Both men are probably feeling really bad, and both hopefully regret crossing the line. Both lie as they have done.
