A central topic of discussion in many online communities is the evolution of wearable devices and this arose on the occasion of the emergence of the Samsung Galaxy Ring. However, perhaps more credit goes to Oura when it comes to the smart ring market. While the Oura Ring 3 remains their flagship product, it is quite old at this stage and many customers are waiting for a successor. Oura hasn’t made any announcements about a product refresh, but we just found out that the Oura Ring 4 has passed certification, indicating that its release is on the horizon.
There are certification listings for an upcoming product from Oura with model number OA11, and along with it comes some first images of the smart ring in size 10.
Unlike the Samsung Galaxy Ring, which has a hollow structure, Oura seems to be sticking with a flat design for its next product. No raised bumps are visible in the images.
But what is OA11? The certification list includes this helpful graphic that indicates that OA11 is the upcoming Oura Ring 4.
The product label mentions OA11 and OA12, but we have yet to locate any further information on OA12. Additionally, it lists the product as Oura Ring 4, with gold and size 15 as color and size examples. The Oura Ring 3 was available in a smooth Horizon variant and a Heritage variant with a plateau design, so there’s a chance the OA11 to be Ring 4 Horizon while OA12 to be Ring 4 Heritage.
The certification documents state that the OA11 is tested in sizes 7, 9, 13 and 15.
Finally, let’s remember that the Oura Ring 3 was launched in October 2021, so it’s time for a successor to be released to better compete with the Galaxy Ring.
