Followers flock to Victoria’s Instagram after Miss Universe pageant

Interest in Victoria Kjær Theilvig has increased significantly after the 21-year-old Dane was named Miss Universe 2024 early on Sunday morning.

A few hours before the beauty contest was to be decided in Mexico’s capital, Mexico City, she had just over 50,000 followers on the social media Instagram.

Early Sunday morning, her profile has passed 248,000 followers.

During the competition, which spanned several days, Theilvig continuously posted pictures and videos from the competition.

Part of the sub-elements of the beauty pageant was that contestants had to appear in a costume inspired by their national background.

In this connection, the 21-year-old Dane posted a message on her profile, where she explained what the thoughts were behind the exact suit she had chosen to wear.

The costume was inspired by the female Viking gods of Norse mythology, she explains.

– This costume is not just a set of clothes. It is a strong tribute to the strong and robust women of the Viking Age, who were honored as warriors, leaders and protectors of their people, she writes in the post.

As part of the competition, the approximately 130 participants also appeared in evening gowns and swimwear.

The competition’s five best participants also had to answer a series of questions during the final part of the competition on Sunday night.

Here, Victoria Kjær Theilvig was asked how she would live her life differently if she knew that no one was judging her.

She replied that she didn’t want to change anything, but that she lived one day at a time. CNN writes that.

Theilvig was also asked if she wanted to say something to the competition’s viewers.

– Keep fighting, no matter where you come from, was the answer.

With her blonde hair and blue eyes, Victoria Kjær Theilvig has previously caused a stir in beauty contests. Among other things, she has won Miss Denmark and Miss Grand Denmark and was one of the top 20 in Miss Grand International.

She is from Søborg, is a former dancer and has made animal welfare her trademark.

It was the 73rd time that the competition, which the organization behind it calls “the biggest celebration of women”, took place.

It is the first time that a Dane has won the international beauty pageant.
