Football gentlemen still exist. His teammates rejected fair play, he refused to score a goal. Home team applauded him – Foreign leagues – Football

Simulating or stretching time is an inherent part of modern football, even the biggest stars often resort to unfair practices. However, the football gentleman has not yet completely died out.

The less and less seen sportsmanship gesture took place in Bolivia’s highest football competition, where table leader Bolívar hosted eighth-ranked Oriente Petrolero.

With the score 0:0, the defender of the home team stopped the offensive action of the opponent when he knocked the forward pass into the car. In the process, he apparently injured himself, as he laid down on the lawn with a painful grimace and held his leg.

Upon impact, he rolled all the way to the sideline. In that case, the rules say clearly, the opponent does not have to wait for treatment and can continue the game, which the players in green did.

But subconsciously, one thinks that a kind of unwritten fair play should be observed.

However, the players of Oriente did not pay attention to this and immediately put the ball back into play to the whistle of the home fans. The referee awarded a penalty.

Chaos ensued on the field, the home team was convinced that the guests had behaved maliciously. It wasn’t long before there was a mass battle between the two teams.

Conscience was heard in Oriente striker Gilbert Álvarez, who stood up to the ball. His execution of the penalty kick ended with a slight “shot” that barely reached the goal.

The home team appreciated that the visiting striker spurned the chance to send his team into the lead against the league leader.

Álvarez was subsequently applauded by the home audience and received recognition on social networks as well. The guests finally left the Bolivar field empty-handed after losing 0:2.
