Football was his life and he devoted himself to it until his last moments.

With these words, Spartak Trnava informed about the death of former player Jaroslav Mačák. At the age of 50, he lost his battle with an insidious disease yesterday.

We were struck by the news of the death of a former player of our club in the famous Pecze era in the 90s of the last century – Jaroslav Mačák.

He was at Spartak’s fight for championship titles and, together with his teammates, entertained the fans with a great and attractive attacking game,” the club wrote on its website.

He played 134 league matches for Spartak and scored 23 goals. He also has 6 meetings in European Cups.

In addition to Trnava, he also played, for example, in the German Paderborn and lower Austrian competitions. After his career, he trained young people in nearby Modranka.

“Jaroslav Mačák was an excellent footballer and a great person with a friendly nature. He came to Malé Rím at the age of 20 from Poprad, he wore the number 9 on his jersey and the fans loved him.

“We express our sincere condolences to the relatives, family, friends, acquaintances and everyone who knew this great person. Honor to his memory,” added the club.
