For schoolchildren, the end of the long Christmas and New Year’s holidays: when will they have holidays?

This time, schoolchildren enjoyed twelve days of vacation. Now they are waiting for the end of the first evaluation period, and then in mid-February, some will already go on a one-week winter vacation.

After the end of the New Year holidays, schoolchildren complete the first evaluation period, when they will receive notifications about academic success. The first of the two assessment periods ends on January 31st in primary schools and on January 15th in secondary schools, according to the school calendar regulations. This year’s information days for enrollment in secondary schools will be on February 14 and 15.

On February 17th, pupils and students from south-eastern Slovenia – with the exception of the municipalities of Ribnica, Sodražica, Loški Potok, Kočevje, Osilnica and Kostel -, Carinthia, Podravka, Pomurska, Savinja and Posavina statistical regions will go on a one-week winter vacation, and on February 24th those from western and central Slovenia.

Schoolchildren had their first break of the current school year at the end of October. Before the end of the school year, they still have the May Day holidays.
