For the production of the new electric Renault Twingo, Slovenia will give Revoz up to 40 million euros

Production of the new electric Renault Twingo could bring up to 400 additional jobs to Novi Mesto in the long term, and the state will provide Revoz with up to 40 million euros for production, Minister of Economy Matjaž Han told Slovenian Forbes.

In the budget for 2025, the government has already reserved 25 million euros for co-financing the French investment.

On July 24 of this year, representatives of the Government and Renault signed a Memorandum of Understanding, which stipulates that the electric Twingo will be produced at the Revoz factory. Then they announced that production will begin in 2026, and that they will initially produce 150,000 vehicles per year.

“We are in constant contact with Renault, according to the latest information they are preparing everything necessary for the investment. We are currently waiting for the necessary documentation,” Han said in an interview with Forbes Slovenia and revealed how many countries will participate in the co-financing of the investment.

From this, according to Forbes, it can be more precisely concluded about the amount of Renault’s investment, which was not revealed in July. Given that the state can by law subsidize between 10 and 30 percent of the company’s investment, the total amount of Renault’s investment is between 120 and 400 million euros, according to Forbes Slovenia.

Renault models Clio, Twingo and electric Twingo were assembled in Revoz, but the production of the old Twingo and the electric Twingo was completed this year, so that currently only the Clio 5 model is assembled in one shift, where 1400 people currently work.
