Ford on the verge of shutting down in Europe? Toyota in an unstoppable rise, Seat excellent, Cupra is the future, MINI a disaster
The latest data on car sales in Europe published by ACEA (Association of Automobile Manufacturers) in the first ten months show that the market is in a slight increase (+1.1%), but at the same time they also revealed the brands that are in great decline and those that are have adapted to the market.
The black champion in the decline of sales in Europe from January to October this year is MINI, which completely missed the “theme” in terms of the model range.
With a drop in sales of as much as 22% compared to the same period last year, with a barely noticeable market share of 1.1%, it came to the top of the list of losers.
Right behind the MINI brand is Ford which is slowly but surely dying out in Europe year after year. Obviously, the dismissal of over 4,000 workers in Europe is only the tip of the iceberg and the consequence of a bad market strategy with the absence of interesting models.
In the first ten months, Ford recorded worse result that a market decline of over 17% would testify to major problems with an ever-worsening market share of 3.4 percent.
On the other side of the “rainbow” Toyota simply conquered Europe with a growth of 11.4% and a record market share of 7.1%
A very pleasant surprise are the Seat i brands Cupra which raised sales by 12.3 and 9.2%.
