Ford has also prepared a renewed version of the Equator SUV for the Chinese market, three years after its debut.
The three-row car is made in China through the JMC-Ford joint venture, and now adopts upgraded styling cues (most notably, a redesigned front end), along with a new plug-in hybrid configuration.
The Equator gets a new front fascia, LED headlights and simpler front bumper openings, as well as new full-width LED taillights.
In terms of dimensions, the Equator has grown by 15 mm and is now 4,920 mm long.
The new 20-inch Cyclone alloy wheels should also be mentioned.
Equator retains two 12.3-inch screens in the interior, along with a new front seat design, better materials, new colors and richer equipment.
The introduction of a new plug-in hybrid drive is also a novelty. This setup consists of a 1.5-liter gasoline engine, an electric motor and an 18.4 kWh battery, resulting in a combined output of 270 kW/367 hp and 555 Nm.
The range in electric mode is 110 km, while the total autonomy is 1205 km.
The official premiere will take place on November 15 at the Guangzhou Auto Show, and then the price will be announced.
