Another company, Ford, is backtracking on its plans to become an all-electric company in Europe by 2030. In 2021, the Blue Oval company had announced that by 2030 it aimed to sell only electric cars in Europe, but as it stated in a recent interview of Marin Gjaja, the head of electric cars at Ford, have now abandoned that goal due to uncertainty around demand for electric cars and legislation.
I think the customers have spoken and told us it was too ambitious, that’s what I would say – and I think everyone in the industry has found that out the hard way. I would also say that reality has a way of making you adjust your plans.
I don’t think we can move forward with anything until our customers decide to be fully on board with it, and that’s progressing at different rates around the world.
We don’t see that being fully electric by 2030 is a good option for our business or, especially, for our customers.
he pointed out, adding that the company will enow focus more on hybrid models.
