Ford wants to stop making “boring” cars and says no to new Fiesta and Focus

The answer was given by the CEO of Ford, Jim Farley, because his company has canceled the Fiesta, Mondeo and Taurus, while in 2025 it will also cancel the Focus. As the American said, this decision was made in order for Ford “to get out of the boring car business and into the iconic car business“.

Farley admitted that the Fiesta, Focus, Mondeo and Taurus were loved by many customers of the Blue Oval company and although they are quite popular it is not worth investing in them to release their new generations, unlike for example business cars that have larger profit margins.

By flagship cars, Farley means the Bronco, Mustang and Raptor versions of the Ranger and F-150, with Farley believing the Mustang can take on the Porsche 911 and to do so, Ford intends to invest more money to it in the future. As Farley pointed out, the Mustang GTD is proof of that.
