Kolesov predicted seven-degree heat in St. Petersburg on the first day of winter
The period of monotonous weather in the Northern capital has come to an end. The upcoming weekend, which falls on the change of seasons, will invigorate St. Petersburg residents, said the city’s chief weather forecaster, Alexander Kolesov.
He predicted the southwest wind to increase to 8-13 m/s, and in the Gulf of Finland – to 15-20/s. In this regard, on the evening of Saturday, November 30, a temporary rise in water level at the mouth of the Neva is expected. At the same time, on the night of December 1, the situation will improve as the wind weakens.
Western winds will bring additional warm air masses to St. Petersburg, which will increase the air temperature on the first day of winter. Kolesov promised on Sunday, December 1, temperatures up to 5-7 degrees Celsius. At the same time, light rain is possible in the city.
From the middle of next week, St. Petersburg will fall into “winter conditions.” A cyclone and a cold front will bring cold temperatures and precipitation to the region on Tuesday, December 3.
Earlier, the specialist presented a general weather forecast about winter in St. Petersburg.
