Foreign tourists violate Nintendo Museum rules

The new Nintendo Museum in Japan is facing some problems with bad behavior from some foreign visitors. According to the Nintendo Every website, several tourists have taken, and subsequently shared on social media, numerous photographs in areas of the museum where it is expressly prohibited.

As in every museum, also in the Nintendo one there are some areas, containing prototypes, experiments or products that can only be viewed inside the new museumwhere taking photographs of the specimens on display is prohibited.

The Nintendo Museum is an exhibition with the same rules as those that host works of art or historical artifacts.

Someone, however, didn’t give a damn and a particular imagewent viral, garnering thousands of interactions from fans around the world.

The image in question was shared by Nintendo Every, obscuring its content, as proof of the incident which, according to many, could lead to the Colossus of Kyoto to increase the prohibitions within his new museum.

This episode adds to previous reports of visitors who have tampered with objects on display, as in the case of someone who disconnected the cable of a Super Nintendo controller discovering that emulators are used to make visitors play historical titles.

Such behaviors they violate the basic rules of respect in a museumwhere touching exhibits and taking photos in certain areas is generally prohibited.

The rules of the Nintendo Museum are not unusual in the world museum scene. It is common practice to prohibit touching some, if not all, exhibits and to limit photography in some sections.

This situation, as we anticipated earlier, has raised many concerns about the possible tightening of restrictions by Nintendo to prevent future incidents of this type.

This is part of a broader context in which Japan, faced with the increase in tourism, has progressively expanded the limitations for foreign visitors in response to disrespectful behavior towards local customs and traditions.
