Foreigners can now serve as commanders in the Ukrainian army

In the written statement made on the official website of the Ukrainian Parliament, it was stated that President Volodymyr Zelenskiy signed a law allowing foreign nationals or those without Ukrainian citizenship to serve in the Ukrainian army.

On October 10, the Parliament adopted the bill to amend some laws regarding the procedure for contract military service of foreigners or non-Ukrainian citizens in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the State Special Transport Service and the National Guard of Ukraine.

Reaction from Russia

On the other hand, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mariya Zaharova, in her reaction to Zelenskiy’s decision, said, “In this way, foreign commanders will finish off the Ukrainians more actively. Otherwise, a Ukrainian will not send another Ukrainian to die out of pity. Zelenskiy is not paid for this.” .” he said.
