After numerous rumors, both regarding the devices to be presented on this occasion and related to the event itself, Samsung has officially confirmed the next Galaxy Unpacked event: it will take place on January 22, 2025, from 8 p.m. :00 (Romanian time) and can be watched live on the official website of the South Korean company.
Moreover, the official promotional image of the Galaxy Unpacked event features no less than four new smartphones, which are rumored to be the Samsung Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Plus, Galaxy S25 Ultra and, surprise, a new member of the Samsung flagship family, named Galaxy S25 Slim.
Samsung fans shouldn’t expect anything new from the standard Galaxy S25, and the Galaxy S25 Plus should be similar, with the benefits of a larger screen and a more generous battery capacity. Instead, the Galaxy S25 Ultra should ditch its predecessor’s “angular” design in favor of more rounded edges, but keep top-of-the-line specs and cameras, as well as the built-in S Pen stylus.
The star would be the new Galaxy S25 Slim
Instead, the new Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim model, coming to meet the future iPhone 17 Air, should offer a screen with a diagonal of 6.66 inches, a high-performance camera system, with a main sensor of 200 MP, an ultra- wide of 50 MP, but also a telephoto lens of 50 MP, with optical zoom. The Slim model would be based on a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip from Qualcomm and a battery with a capacity of 5000 mAh.
According to these specifications, the Slim model would be able to compete with the Galaxy S25 Ultra, but, most likely, some compromises will be made to achieve its smaller dimensions, especially the “thinness”: the possible removal of support for wireless charging or a periscope lens for the telephoto camera.
