In the show “Focuses: smart industry”, Karl-Joosep Pärtel, the co-founder of Raiku, a start-up company that produces wooden packaging material, i.e. springs, will be visiting, with whom we will talk about the recent announcement of how the company got into the accelerator of a large French luxury goods manufacturer, as well as about what the company’s development plans are in general.
According to Pärtel, the most important thing for the team right now is the launch of the pilot plant in Estonia, and for example, the first new production line was put into operation this week. The head of the company acknowledges that demand is currently high and the luxury goods sector has shown the most interest.
Pärtel explains in the program that several French organizations have contacted Raiku and investigated what the Estonian industry needs to expand to the market there. Help is offered in finding production space and people, as well as financial support.
“This is mainly the topic of the last two weeks, but in fact there have been contacts before. When we were at the fair of luxury companies last year, we also received awards there, after which people started contacting us,” recalls the company’s manager.
Pärtel states that the company has a plan to build a factory in France. “Next year we will start preparing, the year after that we will start moving the first lines there,” he says and adds that the company also hopes to be a part of the measure, which promises support of 60-70% for projects worth 5 million euros or more. “A very progressive country,” praises Pärtel and adds that Raiku is planning both a pilot plant and a large industrial plant in Estonia and France.
The show is hosted by Harro Puusild.
