Conclusion

Franzis Panorama Studio 4 Pro is easy to use and allows you to create precisely composed panoramas. Many functions help to improve the results. A plus is the support for HDR images.

Panorama images capture the distance without the need for a wide-angle lens and allow for higher resolution. Combining individual images to create a panorama is not difficult with programs such as Franzis Panorama Studio 4 Pro.

It guides you through the individual work steps. First, the images are loaded and then analyzed. The program uses the data to put the image together. In addition to two-dimensional panoramic images, it can also be used to create spherical 360×180 degree panoramas. Numerous options and settings are available during the process to ensure the best possible result.

After importing the individual images, you determine the Settings the camera used. The software reads the corresponding EXIF data or allows the camera to be selected in a dialog. The list of supported cameras and smartphones is very long, and there is a suitable entry for most devices.

You can also create and save your own camera profile. The menu for the lens settings is in the same window. The standard values are usually sufficient to assemble the panorama optimally. In the advanced settings, you can specify the quality of the image recognition when assembling. Higher values require more computing time, but also deliver better end results.

When assembling the panorama, the software takes over and carries out the operation independently. You then select the desired image area and straighten the horizon if necessary. The final calculation then follows. The motif can then be edited. Tools such as color balance, curves and sharpening are available for this purpose. If desired, you can add markers for interactive panoramas.

Panorama Studio 4 Pro processes JPEG and RAW files. With RAW data, you can change the highlights and brightness while loading and thus influence the final result. In addition, the program can combine exposure series with HDR images. This also works with photos from Open Camera for Android.

The industry leader Adobe Lightroom, for example, fails in this regard. When working with HDR series, you can rely entirely on various automatic modes. In addition, functions are available for subsequently improving the images with HDR tone mapping and for individual adjustments.
