For several months now, there have been posts on social networks that copy the style and content of the Slovak opinion-forming media. Readers are lured with a scandalous headline, according to which the National Bank of Slovakia (NBS) allegedly sued politicians for their statements about a simple and quick way to get rich

“The site contacts the winners commenting on the fraudulent contest posts via private message. In it, the fraudsters will send you a link where you have to confirm the win and pay the postage so that the tickets can be delivered to you. At the same time, they are pressuring you to confirm the win as soon as possible, because the link is only valid for a limited time,” the police added, adding that people will lose money after completing the link.

“Total hyenism. Fraudsters are impersonating the Bratislava zoo on Facebook at a time when the real one is facing the consequences of devastating floods,” the police said on the social network.

In case of providing card data, he recommends immediately contacting the bank and going to the police. She warned people to never respond to, comment on, or share such fraudulent contests. “Scammers rely on comments and shares to reach as many potential victims as possible,” she added.
