If you are 23 years old or younger, from December you will be able to save money on recharging your pass to travel on public transport.
From December 1st, simply present your citizen card as proof of age, and young people up to 23 years old will be able to purchase the pass for free, announced the Ministry of Infrastructure and Housing (MIH), in a statement sent to Renaissance.
The sub23 pass is now free for all young people, not just those who study.
The measure was announced by the Government in October within the scope of measures to promote green mobility for passengers.
The Ministry of Infrastructure and Housing (MIH) estimates that around 240 thousand young people will benefit from the measure which involves an investment of 40 million euros.
In a statement, the Minister of Infrastructure and Housing, Miguel Pinto Luz, states that this is a measure that guarantees equality among all young people and promotes mobility on public transport.
“The expansion of this pass to a greater number of young people is an invitation that we launch to this generation to join public transport and adopt green mobility as a way of being”, highlights Miguel Pinto Luz.
