CLAAS combine harvesters – sovereigns on the market for decades

With around 100,000 and 75,000 units respectively, Dominator i Lexion make up the largest share in the number of Claas harvesters produced so far. Other models that contributed to the half million mark include Super i Super Automatic (approximately 65,000 units), then Europa i Columbus (altogether about 60,000 units), but also Toucan (about 35,000 units). Series made in smaller numbers, such as Commandor Terra Tracalso had an impact on this impressive figure.

Claas machinery was originally produced exclusively at the headquarters, Harsewinkel in Germany. However, the harvesters are now manufactured in India as well as in Omaha (Nebraska) for the North American market. In addition, in Torokszentmiklos in the south of Hungary, cutters and corn pickers for Claas combines have been produced since 1997. In October 2021, the plant celebrated the one hundred thousandth cutting unit made for Claas.

In order to highlight the global production network of harvesters and to enable all factories to participate equally in celebrating the jubilee, several special series machines were made and are being made in each of the company’s global facilities. The harvesters have a special look, designed to pay tribute to the company’s history.

Special editions for the jubilee celebration

The silver metallic color represents the start of harvester production up to 1968, the green metallic color represents the color scheme introduced in 1978 with the Dominator, and the knot pattern in the Claas letters on either side refers to the old-style hitch hook logo – the first Claas patent from 1913 .

The anniversary edition Lexion, Trion, Evion and Dominator harvesters will be on display at various national and international trade shows, as well as field days and in demo use in the coming weeks and months. They also include two Lexion models from the Omaha production line, which are intended for farms in the US and Canada.
