One anonymous complaint put Galp’s executive president, Filipe Silva, in the eye of the storm, due to an alleged personal relationship with a company director may constitute a conflict of interest. The case is reminiscent of what happened to the former president of BP, Bernard Looney, who resigned in 2023, following an investigation by the company for not having been transparent with the company in exposing potential conflicts of interest. And, as far as Galp is concerned, it is the result of a reporting channel which annually receives more than fifty reports of possible irregularities.
