From heroine’s chauffeur to prime minister’s peon, Bane Jahangir wants to become an MP.

Jahangir Alam used to work at the Prime Minister’s residence. However, he used to introduce himself as Personal Assistant to the Prime Minister (APS) at various places and in all circles. However, Jahangir Alam’s name was not in the list of names of Prime Minister’s APS.

Locals said that Jahangir Alam used to come to Chatkhil in Noakhali every month. Extensive development work has also been done in the area. The dream was to elect an MP in Noakhali-1 (Chatkhil-Sonaimuri) constituency. Although he made a big jump in the 11th National Assembly elections, he did not participate in the elections later. As a potential candidate for the last 12th National Assembly election, he campaigned extensively and bought nomination as an independent candidate. After submitting the nomination papers, the nominated candidate from Bangladesh Awami League and the current Member of Parliament of Noakhali-1 constituency HM Ibrahim accused people of harassing people in the area with the identity of Prime Minister’s APS. Later, under the pressure of the Prime Minister’s office, he withdrew from the election and participated in the campaign for the nominated candidate of Awami League.

Last Sunday (July 24) afternoon, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina gave sensational information about the corruption of a former peon of her house while giving an example that measures are being taken against corruption in the press conference after her visit to China. He said, a former peon of my house also owns 400 crore rupees.

It is alleged that in the last few years, Jahangir Alam has become the owner of many properties by pretending to be the personal assistant of the Prime Minister. He has a personal assistant. Jahangir Alam’s name was broken and several people including his niece carried out various criminal activities in the area. However, local people are reluctant to identify themselves to journalists while giving information on these issues.

Several people who did not wish to be named said that they have built a 4-storey luxury house in Naharkhil village, an 8-storey house in Lakshminarayanpur of district town Maijdi, plots and property in Chatkhil, Khilpara Bazar, Dhanmondi in Dhaka.

Going to Khilpara’s house in Sarzamin, it is seen that only his elder brother Mir Hossain and his elder sister-in-law are staying in the 4-storey house.

His elder brother Mir Hossain claimed that Jahangir had a loan in the bank. He used to bring donations from various leaders and activists and give them to the people of the area. He said, I did not know that my brother owns so much money.

He also claimed that the allegations leveled against Jahangir Alam were false and conspiratorial.
