From November 30, China will introduce a unilateral visa-free regime with Estonia

From November 30, 2024, Estonian citizens will be able to visit China without a visa for up to 30 days – this trial practice will be valid until December 31, 2025 and will apply to citizens of eight more countries.

The test visa-free regime will be valid for holders of ordinary passports of Bulgaria, Romania, Croatia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Malta, Estonia, Latvia and Japan, Chinese media reported on Friday, citing the country’s official authorities.

The period of visa-free stay for citizens of these countries in China can be up to 30 days for business or tourism purposes, as well as visiting relatives or transit.

“We raised the topic of a visa-free regime at several meetings, including in the Chinese Parliament in Beijing,” he told the portal on Friday Rus.ERR Andrei Korobeinik, who, as part of the delegation of the Riigikogu group for parliamentary relations with China, visited the People’s Republic of China from August 29 to September 9. – This is an important topic for Estonia, which was also raised at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. China is a transit hub for travel to that region of Asia, so this topic has been touched upon several times, but I would not risk drawing a direct cause-and-effect connection between our trip and this decision, but I will repeat that this was discussed more than once during the visit.”
