Frostpunk is a popular series of strategy games by the Polish studio 11 bit studios, known primarily for the great This War of Mine. Now its new mobile spin-off, titled Frostpunk: Beyond the Ice, has debuted in the App Store.
Frostpunk: Beyond the Ice is the result of cooperation between 11 bit studios and the South Korean company Com2uS, known primarily for the Summoners War series. Similarly to the main installments of the series, the action of the game takes us to an alternative version of the 19th century, in which an ecological disaster brought eternal winter to the world. The player takes on the role of the manager of a city built around a giant coal-powered heat generator. In terms of gameplay mechanics, Beyond the Ice combines elements and ideas taken from the first Frostpunk with solutions typical of freemium mobile strategy games.
Frostpunk: Beyond the Ice is available for download from App Store for free. It is a freemium production offering optional micropayments.
