Fthiotida: Operation to rescue a wolf that fell into a well

A wolf rescue operation was undertaken by the Fire Department in collaboration with “Kallisto” and other agencies, on Friday afternoon (11/22).

As lamiareport reports, the wild animal fell into an unguarded 13-meter well, about 500 meters away from the last houses of Kato Tithorea.

A walker noticed it and alerted the Fire Department, thinking it was a dog.

Firefighters who rushed to the scene found that it was a wild animal and then a wolf, which instinctively showed aggression and so they asked for the help of organizations that specialize in wild animals, such as “Kallisto”.

The procedure involves anesthetizing the animal by a wolf-savvy veterinarian and then retrieving it for treatment by firefighters before being released back into the wild.
