Márton Fucsovics lost to Canadian Denis Shapovalov in three games on Monday in the first round of the men’s tennis tournament on hard courts in Belgrade, after winning two games to reach the main draw.

The first set was decided in short order, in which the Canadian already led 6-2, but Fucsovics was able to turn it around and won 8-6. In the final game of the second set, the Hungarian athlete was ahead 5:4, but Shapovalov turned the tables and easily won the final set.
The North American tennis player – the former tenth in the world ranking – served eight aces and had nine double faults in the 2 hours and 37 minutes of the match. Only Fábián Marozsán will represent the Hungarian colors in the Serbian capital, he will meet Dusan Lajovicc, who played in front of the domestic audience, in the second round.
