Fujitsu and Cohere have announced a new strategic partnership to provide Japanese enterprise AI services announcedCohere said they will develop a variety of highly secure models for businesses and meet businesses where they will “create real-world impact for customers.”
Cohere’s Command R+ model will form the basis of the planned models due to its features such as accuracy, multi-language support and automation tools. Private cloud deployments will also be available as part of the agreement to help serve a wide range of regulated organizations such as financial institutions, the public sector and R&D units.
Fujitsu will use Cohere’s Embed and Rerank models, in addition to the Command R+ model, to build enterprise search applications and access-augmented generation (RAG) systems.
Command R+ was announced in April. According to Cohere, the model performs as well as GPT4-turbo on multilingual, RAG, and Tool Usage benchmarks, and is significantly less expensive than running GPT4-turbo on Azure.
Command R+ features a 128k token context window that allows for longer inputs. It also supports advanced access augmented rendering (RAG) with quoting to reduce hallucinations, multilingual coverage in 10 core languages, and Tool Usage to automate complex business processes.
