The world of the fastest wheels is waiting for a big change from next season. Representatives of the International Automobile Federation (FIA) announced before the weekend US Grand Prix in Austin, Texas, that in the next year there will be fewer points for pilots in the game.

The F1 championship leader is Max Verstappen with six races to go with a 52-point lead over Lando Norris.
In Formula 1, starting from the 2025 season, a bonus point will not be awarded to the competitor for the fastest lap at the Grand Prix.
An additional point has been awarded in the World Championship series since 2019. The condition for obtaining it is that the competitor with the fastest lap finishes the race in the top ten.
In a packed grand prix calendar with 24 races this year, an extra point from each grand prix can play an important role in a close title race.
Some teams, in order to obtain it, or, on the contrary, prevent the opponent from obtaining it, often take controversial steps.
In Singapore in September, Daniel Ricciardo from the second Red Bull team switched to new tires at the end of the race to set the fastest lap, although as a driver outside the elite ten of the running order he could not get the mentioned point.
However, he prepared for him the competitor of his teammate from the first team of Red Bull Max Verstappen, because before that the fastest time was held by Lando Norris from McLaren.
The British pilot loses six races before the end of the season in second place in the championship to Verstappen by 52 points. Norris has four bonus points this year.
