Galp’s executive director, Filipe Silva, resigned this Tuesday, citing family reasons.
The information was provided by the company in a statement sent to the Securities Market Commission (CMVM).
The dismissal comes after reports of an alleged love affair between the CEO of Galp and a top director of the company, which could violate the code of ethics.
“I would like to highlight the contribution that Filipe made to the company over the last 12 years, a period in which his dedication was important for Galp’s growth”, says Paula Amorim, president of Galp’s board of directors.
The statement sent to the CMVM says that the administration “remains in the hands of a highly qualified team, which will guarantee the execution and implementation of the company’s strategy”.
Filipe Silva’s resignation has “immediate effects” and Galp’s new CEO will be revealed in the coming days, says the oil company.
